It's not really in his character, but with all this stuff building up, he just feels backed into a corner and just wants to burst.

"I don't know whether he'd actually have it in him to hurt Glenda so badly, though."

Peter's exit also comes after he is left heartbroken when Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) dumps him.
