Baby Horror! Confirmed By BBC

MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT:

The BBC Have Confirmed The Shock Storyline - That WE FIRST Reported On Back In October...

In the run up to New Year's Eve both Kat and Ronnie give birth. As We Reported Back In October When EastEnders Star Thomas Law Confirmed The Shock Storyline Unfortunately, one of the babies dies soon after, leading to Ronnie, in the heat of the moment, making a terrible decision to swap the newborns as Albert Square's residents go about their New Year's Eve celebrations.

After rushing to the Queen Vic to seek help with her lifeless child still in her arms, Ronnie hears Kat's baby crying upstairs and secretly swaps the pair in a powerful scene.

As Ronnie leaves The Vic and returns home with Kat's child, the New Year celebrations continue inside the pub and the rest of the Square's residents have no idea of what has happened.

Speaking of the new storyline,
EastEnders' executive producer Bryan Kirkwood commented:

"This story built on the rich history both characters have built up over the years and the story team have worked hard to make this convincing and powerful"

The Storyline Is Expected To Begin In DECEMBER.

eastenders is getting more and more like hollyoaks with the storeylines and as far as the baby swap goes are the trying to bring back the cat and michelle sceene?!

Anonymous said...

I know your trying to keep the drama going but i wont be watching this. Give Ronnie a break eh!
I cant handle watching a baby dying either. Hmm some happy new year.
Sorry Eastenders and you were doing so well with bringing Kat and Alfie back.

Well Well - Seem's Like most want to give ronnie a break, but after all - what other storyline could she have? and what about when kat finds out - if she does?

Anonymous said...

Give Ronnie a break, can't eastenders have a happy ending at christmas!!! After all ronnie has had such bad luck already. esp after losing one child. Can't the producer's come up with a better story line than this.
i would love to see stacey and ryan get together!!!
Please let's have a happy christmas........

This is Stupid Ronnie already lost danielle and ur killing this baby too eastenders is really losing their taste in style i mean come on its so repetitive why can't u give ronnie and Jack a break Jacks also suffered being paralysed so this child is the one thing that can make them happy but u just hv to go and spoil it dont you .

Anonymous said...

I love eastenders, but this is taking it too far!
Watching this story line will be sickening. GET STACY AND RYAN TOGETHER!!!

Iv watched eastenders since i was a child with my mum, but im starting to question whether i want to anymore. i understand that storylines have to be dramatic to keep audiences hooked, but where are you going to draw the line? As it is we've got Ben locked up, Louise off with her mum, Lily about to lose her mum, Lucy's abortion, Ronnie having lost danielle and had a miscarriage, billie dying, liam getting smacked by his nan.. why are kids suddenly becoming the victims in this show? its getting repetitive and a little sickening now. watching ronnie carry a dead baby round the square? no thanks! too close to my heart and i couldn't bear to watch it. this isn't what i could class as entertainment anymore! besides, who wouldn't recognise their own newborn? come on!

What a`load of rubbish get some decent writers in eastenders, I stopped watching after they brought Kat and alfie back they are just not convincing at all. Now they want us to believe that some one can swap babies and the mother wouldnt notice, newborns change over days and weeks not overnight and every mother unless in a coma knows their own baby,, if it wasnt so silly it would be laughable.

Anonymous said...

i love the dramatic storylines over the past christmass ...but this one isnt too nice, ronnie has been through so much she deserves a break. getting stacey and ryan together on new year would be a good storyline as its what everyone wants, not ronnies baby to die ...come on eastenders listen to the public !!!

Anonymous said...

OH MY GOD WHY MUST RONNIE SUFFER AGAIN?? THIS IS NOT FAIR EASTENDERS!! GIVE THE POOR WOMAN A BREAK AND SOME HAPPINESS FOR A CHANGE!! WILL BE A TEARJERKER TO WATCH THOUGH!!

Anonymous said...

i think its absolute terrible how this story is heading, how the ell do youu think people in real feel, as i know someone that has just sufford from a misscariage at xmas and shes been told she cant ave kids, its absolute terrible for her to watch, so start thining bout other people :@

LISTEN TO YOUR VIEWERS........... I to think you should listen to you viewers, give us some nice surprises for once, Ronnie could go into labour and jack could deliver his baby only to find another one is coming out(TWINS) ,a nice shock for these tWo..SO MANY DEATH TIME WE HAD SOME BIRTHS TO KEEP

Anonymous said...

Please NO!!!!! I love Eastenders but this will really be the saddest thing ever. I would love for Ronnie and Kat to have their babies and both be sooo happy. Ronnie has been through so much already . If the Eastenders writers can read this then please consider an alternative for the christmas shows. Its been said before but Ryan and Stacy together, Ronnie having twins as a surprise etc etc. Lets have a happy christmas in the square!!!

Anonymous said...

yes i like jan's thinking.. let ronnie ave two babies.. please dont let her lose another 1, its hard enough to watch the 1st time but doing it again to the same person is a bit boring and harsh.. and i think kat would notice she isnt that thick!!!

Anonymous said...

i bet she ll keep it and then like 10 years later every1 will find out!

Eveyone appears to be of the opinion that Ronnie has had it far too tough to be given this further devastation in her 'life'. But people are forgetting that she is a character and that her part is not always to entertain but to educate and bring forward storylines that replicate real life situations that raise people's awareness of life trauma's. Cot death will no doubt be somehing that people are often too afraid to discuss, but this is something that happens and it will undoubtedbly bring a greater awareness of the tragedies life sometimes brings to those who will watch the programme and if it is addressed wth the sensitivity it needs - this will be a positive thing. So stop complaining about how tough Ronnie has it and think of those who really have suffered the loss of a child and donate to those charities looking into supporting the real life bereaved parents and families.

i agree with the comment about it being a positive thing first of all im jess and im 16 yrs old i lost my baby boy on the 21/10/2010 he was still born , it is such a hard thing to go through like emotional physically and mentally and no body will ever understand the ongoing pain i suffer unless its happened to them so i fink ppl shud sit back and have a think coz its not just a tv programme it does happen and i no this episode is gnna bring everything back but i also know other people might have a sight into how you never no how long ur going to have with ur family n friends b4 its so cruely snatched away x

Anonymous said...

i think this storyline is bogus, only in eastenders could they swap babies and the mother doesn't notice. why the hell does a baby have to die anyway and why ronnie!?! hasn't she been through enough lately. you should cart her off to the same hospital jean is staying in coz ronnie already has a personality disorder this will really screw her head up.

Anonymous said...

I agree with all the disagreers. I renewed my loyalty to Eastenders after watching the brilliant live episode,as I had not watched it for a long time, but this storyline has made me completely lose all respect for it. Children watch this programme and I think that this story is the culmination of lots of sordid and unbelievable stories that have been going on before Christmas, with everyone jumping into bed with everyone else. I'm just not convinced that it's supposedly "highlighting" the serious issue of cot death. I think the story is a totally self-indulgent and gratuitous invention by the writers and producers who will go to more and more lengths to get shock viewing ratings. Wake up call to the Eastenders team!!

Anonymous said...

i think that ronnies baby dieing is pathetic. And stealing Kats is stupid aswell. Ronnie has already lost two children and she now loses a third one. How much more sadder can this programme get. There is hardly any happiness at all. why cant there be happiness for new year. Every new year there has been a death and it is gettin beyond a joke now!! Get a new story line for the future as these are just depressing. i used to love eastenders but now it is gettin me so angry that bad things keep happenin. wake up guys and girls and stop worryion about ratings. u will get more if the story line is happier.

Anonymous said...

i used to think Eeastenders had class but now im not so sure it was horrid when ronnie had lost her other 2 children and now her wish came true to finaly be a mum but to hold your child and finaly have family that you always wanted snatched away is just crual. come on eastenders leave the girl alone, i have always watched eastenders but now i dont even want to hear about, listenn to the public otherwise u wish u had :(

Anonymous said...

Absolutely ridiculous! I for one will now NOT be watching Eastenders at New Year. Misery and heartbreak all over again...bad move guys!

Anonymous said...

Am really disappointed in Ronnie/ baby storyline - why does one of the baby's have to die. Eastenders is getting all doom and gloom. Have watched show from beginning but this is it, cannot bear to watch this storyline, Ronnie and Jack do not deserve it

Anonymous said...

i think that it's just stupid
why does ronnies baby die i mean she's waited for it and shes already lost danielle
the baby swap is stupid and not fair on kat and alfie, eastenders used to b fun but now it's just annoying
so much 4 a happy new year

Anonymous said...

this is going to far Ronni's baby dying??? doom and gloom, bad taste, the whole storyline is to upsetting to watch, i will not be watching for a while. :(
It would have been nice to have some joy for both Cat and Ronnie.

Anonymous said...

this is a disgrace i shall not be watching any more! i think ronnie should give the baby back! who would think of a storyline like this you should be ashamed!

Anonymous said...

I think this story line is discusting!! Both characters have been through so much already but to write of Ronnie stealing a baby is sick! It's not in her nature and it't upsetting to watch. I think who ever wrote this storyline should be ashamed!! Seriously considering NEVER watching the program again! There has been some shockingly rubbish storylines in the past but this one takes the biscuit its totally wrong and sick! What the hell were the writers thinking?!? Totaly discusted with the show right now and so angry words cannot even describe!

Anonymous said...

Absolutely disgusted in this storyline. I found Ronnie's reaction unconvincing...seriously what parent wouldn't start trying to resuscitate their baby or at least phone for an ambulance? Badly written nasty storyline just to get shock ratings. disgusting.

Anonymous said...

Not happy with the baby storyline. It is christmas after all.Thats a very hard thing to watch, and nxt week is going to worse!.....

Anonymous said...

OMG, This storyline is actually making me sick and I don't know if I can actually watch it anymore. They should of just shown the public what emotions a person goes through with cot death but not swap babies, it's wrong and heartbreaking to watch.

Anonymous said...

I have had to stop watching Eastenders afer years of watching as this is just too horrible! It is time the script writers lightened up and stopped making us all feel miserable.

Anonymous said...

this is sooo wrong my neighbour/best friend lost a 3 month old baby boy on 29 jan last year and my 12 yr old daughter held him before we realized he had died ... it has surred up all that hurt all over again at the start of what we thought was a new year a new start .... i am so angry and upset that the writers and directors of this program think this to be good entertainment!!

absolutely disgusted!!!

Anonymous said...

The way in which the writers have represented this story line is completely disgraceful.

Why contradict something that you've been praised for in the past into something so pervert.

'After the storyline aired in June 1985, the show was praised by audience and press alike for the sensitive and unsensational way this harrowing subject was treated.'

The 'current' Eastenders team and writers should be ashamed and embarrassed.

AnnieMc said...

Eastenders have taken this storyline way too far. I realise it's a soap but it is meant to be based on a form of reality and no one person can have that much suffering in their life. There is no way a mother would not recognise their own baby.....I have watched Eastenders for as long as I can remember and for the first time ever I have switched off. I'm done with it.

Anonymous said...

Totally awful storyline. Yes I know that such a tragedy can and does happen in the 'real' world. Not sure one person can have such a run of bad luck in 'real' live. Have not watched the show since Ronnie's labour scenes and won't do so for a long time. This is just a step too far!

Anonymous said...

have watched ee for years .think the story line went ott will not b watching again

Anonymous said...

i didnt like ronnie swaping her dead baby for kats,it is wrong and wasn't very nice to see.it would be nice if ronnie owned up and gave kat her baby back, but i doubt that.

Anonymous said...

This is absolut redicilous!! 1. VERY unnecessary, 2. annoying, coz Ronnie has to loose ANOTHR baby!, 3. sickening decision which was obviously made out of complete lack of creativity! What bullshit Eastenders became! I have watched it for years now and it gets more and more unrealistic! As if you didn't know any other thing to do than letting Ronnies baby die! This storyline is absolutely redicilous! Give it a break, will ya!

Anonymous said...

the storyline with kat , alfie and baby swapping ronnie is absolutely sickening! eastenders writers have gone wayyyy to far now! no.1 research would have showed that new mothers do not take off the babies tags until the midwife has been. no.2 every mother recognises their own child PATHETIC!!! What a time to do it as well...very insensitive. lots of mothers have been through cot death but there is a way to get the point across. i wonder how long this storyline will go on for? a year? two maybe? come on writers this is beyond a joke this story line somehow needs to be corrected and fast!

Anonymous said...

I AS A MOTHER WHO HAS LOST A BABY...I'M ABSOLUTELY APPALLED, IT IS UTTERLY DISGRACEFUL, & INSENSITIVELY HANDLED.
THIS HAS BROUGHT BACK A LOT OF HURT AND HEARTBREAK, THAT MYSELF & MY HUSBAND HAVE TRIED TO RECOVER FROM OVER THE PAST YEAR.
I HAVE OFFICIALLY LOST ALL RESPECT I HAVE FOR EASTENDERS.
IT'S SICK!!!!!!!! THE SCRIPT WRITERS HAVE TAKEN IT TOO FAR!!!

Anonymous said...

I've watched Eastenders since it started....... but now I've had enough, I won't be watching again.

During a time where things are hard enough in this country - people look to soaps as a bit of escapism, I am absoutely dumb founded as to what writers were thinking with this storyline. The portrayal of yet another lost child child after death by cars and miscarraiges of her others would it of actually killed ratings to have allowed a little joy on to the screen! The harrowing storyline is a step too far and untrue to real life (both Ronnie's reaction and the fact that no other family member realised that dead 'Tommy' was in fact a different child (yes babies do not all look alike!). If the plan is to make people feel there is always someone else worse off I'm pretty sure we already know that! How far do you want to push a paying audience!Shame on you BBC!

Anonymous said...

I must say that the subject of cot death is a sad subject, however adding the baby snatching in with it is taking it wat too far & i think its very insensitive.

Anonymous said...

This story line needs to end, I think its disgrceful and insensitive, I wont be watching anymore.

Anonymous said...

How dare you BBC, and how low can the beeb go? There is enough heartbreak in life why cant we have eastenders with some happiness for a change. l will not be watching while this storyline continues. Guess beebs writers have never endured the kind of stress real humans go through when they lose a child. The bbc has lost its way trying to raise their viewing figures.SHAME on you BBC. You are out of order with this story. Yes people are talking about it, but they are now saying that they will not be watching enders anymore.

Anonymous said...

i haven't watched eastenders since they gave birth (ronny, kat) i find this program very heart breaking as i have lost a child an im in peices i cant understand why you would put that sick twisted story line on the tv and cant even get why you dont thnk about othere peoples fellings i will refuse to watch untill the storry line is back on track !!! i give it to samantha womack (ronny) for leaving but still dont agree for her doing the scenes i would of left a long time ago !!

Anonymous said...

I have been really upset by the storyline involving Ronnie stealing Kat's baby. It would surely have been enough to have the baby's cot death as the tragedy but the abduction has completely eclipsed that storyline and I am horrified that the scriptwriters have done this. It could have been so sensitively handled but this is a big mistake. The cot death has been overlooked for the 'more dramatic' theft of the baby and this in itself is bad enough but the abduction storyline is awful, terrible and so unnecessary. I won't be watching Eastenders again as I am sick of the misery on this programme and the abduction is the last straw.

Anonymous said...

i have been deeply touched by this storyline and find it very heart breaking and painful..its just so horrible and its making me wonder why someone would do such a horrible, sickly storyline with a swap of a dead baby,,,sorry but please end this in the right way ,,,its wrong,,,

As this is the time of year for us all to make New Year's resolutions the people in charge of deciding the storylines of Eastenders should make, and stick to, the resolution to give both the cast and the viewers a respite next Christmas, and break from tradition and surprise us all with a well deserved Happy-Eastenders-Christmas (through to the New Year, if that is not asking too much). It's long overdue, and we'd all love you the more for it!
[By the way, brilliant acting on such difficult storylines! Many thanks to all the cast for yet another year's moving entertainment!]

Anonymous said...

it's a brilliant story line! I can imagine that someone with Ronnie'S experiences would go in to shock and do what she did. It's not as if she consciously thought about it - she drifted across the square, saw the open door and a live baby on his own.
It's a pity the actress playing Ronnie is leaving because it could have led to more discussion about mental illness, childbirth, postnatal depression etc. The only thing I don't understand is how Ronnie was sent home to an empty flat - there should have been someone to look after her, or how Kat was allowed to go home on her own in a taxi wearing a hospital gown, dressing gown and slippers - that was unreal.

Anonymous said...

This is the worst storyline I have seen on TV and this is not soap it is a horror story of the most sordid kind. Shame on the BBC
