EastEnders Sam Mitchell will be pregnant when she returns to the show later this summer, reports claim.

The Walford favourite, played by Danniella Westbrook, will apparently claim that the baby is Ricky’s, although womans man Jack Branning is also in the frame following a fling with Sam last year.


Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, a source revealed "When Sam went to prison she told her family, including her mum Peggy, that she wanted nothing more to do with them.

"Viewers know nothing about her life inside so imagine the shock they’ll get when they see her heavily pregnant. She’s made some comebacks but this one will definitely be the best."

Sam’s return will apparently coincide with the departure of Barbara Windsor, who plays Sam’s mum Peggy, in the soap, after the TV legend announced her intention to leave the show
last October.

The source added "One rumour doing the rounds is that she’ll leave once the baby is born and Peggy will go with her."

Sam’s return to the Square will mark actress Danniella Westbrook’s fifth stint in Britain’s favourite soap. Actress Kim Medcalf played the role of Sam between 2002 and 2005.
